Pajamaboy Diaries

December 2, 2013.

Mother called down to the basement and woke me early. 11:15 am is just wrong! Anyhoo, I got up and went upstairs to the kitchen table. Mother had the Fruity Pebbles already poured into my favorite bowl.. Yes!!! it was going to be a good day after all!

I ate them all, finished my glass of prune juice and went to get my warm and soothing bath. Ugh, Daddy had made a mess again to hurry off at 5:30 am to get to the factory in time and mother's help hadn't arrived yet!! He's such a slob and how he gets so filthy is beyond me. There is talk of closing the plant down and I hope they do, because it's so dirty and I'm sure it's helping to cause Global Warming. Daddy can just stay home like me and mother and in the process, save the environment.

Anyhoo, today was to be an exiting day! The day of the big photo shoot at Organizing for America and I had been selected to be the STAR! Yes, little humble me would be the image of the new campaign. Of course there really wasn't anyone better, as my looks truly represent the image of the progressive American  male. I was also consulted on the content and I thought a Christmas Jammies picture with hot cocoa would truly represent the season in it's proper form.

Things went well, I deferred on the Hot Chocolate and drank warm Kool Aid instead. I love Kool Aid and can't get enough of it, but I digress. Charles was pleased with the photos and Marcy, who reminds me a lot of Rachel Maddow, said that I looked very masculine in my red plaid onesie that mother bought me for the holidays last year.

After the photo shoot we went down to the local watering hole for cocktails. We had a fabulous time talking about all the inequities in our racist and homophobic society. Sometimes I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm an American because of it all, but Barack will fix all of that. I just love saying that name; "Barack", it gives me chills.

Anyhoo, after we left the bar we all separated and went home. Mother warmed a plate for me and I had my dinner. Daddy grumbled something about the economy. He got a little angry when I told him that they said at Organizing for America, that the economy was rebounding and we were in  a recovery. He began to tell me about the Shmeckly's house being foreclosed and today's layoffs at the plant, but I put my fingers in my ears and went lalalalalala. That's when mother told him he was upsetting me. He mumbled something, got up from the table, grabbed a beer and left the room to turn on the television. Ugh, why can't he be as sophisticated as Timothy's dad and drink imported wine? He's an embarrassment!

After I ate, I kissed mother on the cheek and went to my realm, the basement. I turned on the flat screen with the surround sound that mother got me last summer. Ahh, just in time for Hardball!

On a Positive Note

The situation that we Americans find ourselves in is becoming worse. We're finally beginning to see what "fundamental transformation" looks like and it's not attractive. We are starting to see what Winston Churchill called; "the equal distribution of misery." Millions of American have dropped out of the work force and are no longer counted in official "unemployment" numbers. People have just given up looking for work. A new class of Americans is the part time employee. Federal policies have created a situation where many small businesses cannot afford to hire full time employees and aren't. Part time employees now outnumber full time employees in the private sector. Federal regulations and mandates are strangling the life blood of our economy and many small businesses are finding it very difficult to cope and many aren't. Businesses are closing their doors creating more people out of work.

On top of all of this, the welfare ranks have increased and food stamp usage is at an all time high. Add to that the desire by the political class to allow more uneducated, unskilled and non English speaking people into the country, grant those here illegally amnesty and therefore federal "benefits".... It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure what will happen.

When I look ahead, I don't see any way out of this. People have grown too accustomed to government handouts and many are living quite well off of the labor of others. Immigrants and even people who are not citizens can enjoy a work free life and become obese in the process.

My generation is to blame for this. We are the ones who voted for an ever increasing federal state and now the 13 richest counties in the nation are in the DC Metro area. We truly have an imperial city sucking the life out of every city and hamlet in what used to be the greatest nation on earth. With each new regulation and new law our freedoms are being taken away, or disregarded. We, the people who were the envy of the world because of our freedom, are bequeathing to our children a nation that will be nothing more than a lifeless bureaucratic state filled with people who have dreams, but will not be able to realize them because their freedom to do so has been jettisoned for "security"; however those in power will define that. The "Baby Boomers", the children of those who defeated fascism have embraced a kind of soft fascism. Soft for now, of course.

Up until a few weeks ago I had hope that we would be able to turn this around, but there appears to be no desire to fight by those in the political realm. Oh, there are a handful, but party politics and those who guard their own power, have squelched their voices and are now at war with the principles that they once espoused. Power will do that, you know. Power will change your outlook and will cause you to leave your principles and values behind, but that's another story for another day.

I have no hope that a political solution will ever happen. Once the new "healthcare" law is implemented, it's over. There will be even more reliance on government for everyday needs There will be too much power in the hands of the federal government. Too much personal information about individuals and the state will also have the power to deny care to whomever it desires. We have reached the Rubicon and we are crossing it as I write.

The hope of the American ideal rests now where it always has; with the people. Washington D.C. has become too corrupt and insulated to care and why should they? We have proven over and over with our ballots that we don't care either. Perhaps the American ideal is over. Dead by self inflicted wounds.

Urban Obituary #1

May 31, 2013, Chicago Illinois

A 15-year-old Patrick Sykes, child of God, was shot dead Thursday night, police said.

There will be no "Justice for Patrick" rallies, or marches. There will be no hand wringing on MSNBC or any of the other media outlets. There will be no speeches from Al Sharpton, or righteous anger from Jesse Jackson. There will be no petitions signed. None of these things will happen because Patrick's life was of no value; His tragic death at an early age cannot be used to further a political agenda or line the pockets of "reverends".

To the "reverends" and the political class, Patrick's early death is a mere statistic and of no use because the circumstances are far "too common". Besides, how can you possibly work people up into a race baited frenzy and manipulate them when a black teenager dies at the hands of another black teenager? Patrick's death will remain a number. Our prayers go out to his family and particularly his community.

"What difference does it make?"

Madame Clinton has stated clearly that the lies and diversions that the Obama administration forwarded in the days after the Benghazi attack and brutal murders of our Libyan Ambassador and three other Americans is of no concern. In her own words; "What difference, at this point does it make?" My, oh my! This is quite the statement from one, who as a Senator was constantly harassing the former administration. This was her right as a member of the United States Congress constitutionally given oversight of the very Executive branch that she now finds herself an employee of. But, my how the times have changed. 

You know, it's much easier to throw stones than it is to dodge them, but that's beside the point. Our current president, who was also a Senator during Madam Clinton's tenure and also ardently opposed the former administration,  promised transparency to the American people when he ran for office. I don't know why anyone would believe a promise of transparency by someone who spent millions of dollars concealing much of his past, but that's another story that has been covered by many and ignored by the Main Stream Media. However, I want to focus on the here and now and in particular on what Madam Clinton believes doesn't matter, then I'll use her very argument to illustrate the sheer hypocrisy of many liberal/progressive/socialist claims.

What difference does it make? Madam Clinton I believe that lying to anyone is wrong and I particularly think that a government, whose main function is to represent the people that allow themselves to be governed, would lie to them is abhorrent. Susan Rice went on, not one, not two, but three Sunday morning shows and stated that the attack was in response "to a video". You yourself mentioned on several occasions that it was due to a video and your boss, the President of the United States made the very same statement. It was a lie Madam Clinton; a lie designed to deflect and cover for something.

"Bush Lied People Died!"  Madam Clinton, you and those who you align yourself with politically used this very line for years. It was mere political speech because there were WMDs in Iraq. Hussein gassed the Kurds in the late 80s; it's documented fact and he had plenty of gas stored for the future. Tons of "yellowcake" were taken from Iraq after the fall of the government. But, even if  it's true that "Bush Lied People Died!"

There are four dead Americans and one of them was our official representative in that country. Not only were they killed, but our ambassador was brutalized and raped before he died. The other three died protecting the ambassador and defending the consulate. The Ambassador had sent cable after cable to the State Department begging for more security at the consulate; he never got it. When the consulate asked for backup when the assault began.... they never got it. By the way Madam Clinton, who gave the order to stand down? Why wasn't, at the very least, an F16 or C130 Gunship flying low within minutes of the attack?

The filmmaker, that made the so called "inflammatory video", a naturalized American citizen has been harassed by the federal government since this incident. His arrest was televised. The last I heard he is still in prison for "parole violations". I wonder if he would have been put in jail for these parole violations had he not made this video? Somehow I think not. That's a very good use of federal power; harassing citizens for exercising their 1st Amendment rights. The administration should be proud. that they are following in the footsteps of the former administration.

It's fact that the administration lied to the American people. The UN Ambassador did, you did, several others within the administration did and the President did as well. Governments that lie really shouldn't be trusted by the people who they represent because a lie is nothing more than a cover; it is used to conceal something, otherwise there would be no reason to lie. You are hiding something Madam Clinton. We don't know what it is, but we know that the administration is hiding something from the American people. I wonder, "What did the president know and when did he know it?"

I know that sounds familiar. You probably remember those words quite well. You were politically active in the early 70s when the Watergate hearings were happening and you were probably one of those wanting to see the destruction of President Nixon. It's amazing how a little burglary and political hi jinx can get out of hand, but Nixon was a fool to think that he could get away with a cover up. After all, that was the big deal, wasn't it? Had he come clean at the beginning and turned in the culprits it might of gone on a little further, but I don't think a Senate investigation, calls for impeachment and his ultimate resignation would have been in order. I was 12 years old during the Watergate hearings and they were televised. I would come home from school and watch them because I was fascinated with the idea that high officials in our government would lie to us. "What did the president know and when did he know it?"

Madam Clinton, I agree with Rand Paul. When he said that you should have been relieved of your post for the failures under your watch, he was dead on. You are either incompetent or a liar and America deserves better. It doesn't appear that we're going to get anything much better in the near future, but we'll have to deal with what comes our way as Americans have done for over 200 years now. I hope you run for president in 2016, because I believe that after your defeat America will never have to put up with you again. As a man of faith I recognize that the wicked prosper, for a time and then their time is no more. There is a special place reserved for liars, schemers and corrupt people like you. I'll just have to be content with that knowledge for the time being.

The "Progressive" Dream Is At Hand

Well, the contentious and hard fought election of 2012 is now behind us and the American people have spoken; Barack Hussein Obama and his party have retained enough power to stymie any attempts to push back on their progressive agenda of "Fundamental Transformation".

It's taken 100 years, but the "Progressive" vision of America is soon to be realized. "Fellow Travelers" of the past from Woodrow Wilson to Hubert Humphrey are rejoicing wherever their souls reside because the great bureaucracy will soon be in place to run our day to day lives. After all, we mere common folk just aren't capable of such a task.

America, the "Land of the Free" and the "Land of Opportunity" will become no longer the home of the "American Dream", but rather will be the home of, in Mr. Obama's words; "The American Promise".

What will this "Fundamental Transformation" look like? Well, all one has to do is look at other places around the globe where similar, if not identical visions have become a reality. More debt, taxes, regulation, governmental intrusion, more subsidies to politically connected industries and voting blocs, more bailouts for failed "too big to fail" companies, cronyism, high energy bills, despair, high unemployment, welfare, food stamps and more societal breakdown.

There will be less things too. Less opportunity, self sufficiency, economic growth, compassion, charity, choices, money for local governments and schools, less, individualism, motivation, success, self accomplishment, self worth and the most important of all less freedom.

America has spoken and for the first time in our history America has said that freedom is just too hard and we would rather have someone else take care of us than do it ourselves. I can only imagine what is going through the minds of the great patriots of the past. God help our republic.

An Ideology of Failure

Those "vast euphoric crowds" from 2008 have disappeared and Mr. Obama has been exposed as the true radical that he is.  It's going to be a long night for many tomorrow.

It may have taken 4 years for many to understand that Mr. Obama is not what he was marketed to be and that his agenda is not an American agenda, but they understand now. Our federal government was never intended to be a top down authoritative government choosing winners and losers.  The founders understood that society naturally does this and people are only limited by their abilities and efforts.

Mr. Obama's agenda is an agenda that will destroy individual initiative and desire to succeed; punishing those who succeed and rewarding those who don't or won’t.  This is not the natural order of things and all those policies do is put power in the hands of government while taking away the power of the individual.  If after all this time many people don't understand that, then there's really no hope for them to ever understand that.

While it's possible that the government can do good; government cannot do for the individual what the individual can and should do for himself or herself.  It's just not possible. The 13 richest counties in this country are all now in the DC area. That says to me that those counties are rich because they have taken away from my community where the money can be spent much wiser and at lower cost. Every federal dollar taken away from my community is money that can really effect where I live; businesses, churches and yes my local schools.

Mr. Obama’s agenda is one that will eventually starve my community of its resources while feeding an already bloated and inefficient federal bureaucracy always hungry for more and never satisfied.

Mr. Obama's ideology is not a new one and has been around for a very long time.   His agenda is steeped in failed ideas that never work and never will work because they are ignorant of human nature.  You can't force people to be good or compassionate and you can't force people to share, because when you do coerce that kind of behavior, it is no longer goodness, compassion or caring.  For the life of me I can't understand why so many people can't wrap their minds around that very fact.  Government spending on social programs is not charity, and though I believe there is a need for a safety net for those who truly cannot take care of themselves, I cannot agree with a system that creates dependency and you cannot deny that the system does.  A government handout may take care of one’s current physical needs, but at what cost?  A government handout cannot give you a sense of accomplishment and it can't give you a sense of self worth.

But if altruism is what many believe Mr. Obama’s agenda to be about, They are lying to themselves and have failed to see the reality.  His agenda is designed to create dependency, despair and dehumanization where people look only to the government for help and therefore will continue to vote for him and others who believe as he does.  In essence, his agenda is an agenda designed to perpetuate power in the hands of a small elite in a far off capitol. Anyone with their eyes fully open understands this.

Recently finished reading a biography of Ray Bradbury. Ray was quite the prolific writer and he attributed this to the fact that he wrote every day. Writing, like many artistic endeavors requires inspiration, but it is also an acquired skill. I'm jealous of those who can just sit down and write a story, or can simply document their day; it's never come that easy for me.

I enjoy writing and I enjoy the process, but it also causes much frustration for me. Education is not what I have a lot of and English wasn't one of my better subjects when I did attend school. As I look back on this it makes me wonder because I've always enjoyed being creative. It could be that I have high standards in this area and a lot of what comes from my word processor isn't that good and I know it, but maybe that's not the point. Maybe, I'm to just write regardless of those standards so that the skills needed to write well will be acquired in time.

So, this is my plan; I will be writing every day. I will either write here, or on another blog depending on the subject matter. So here's to writing and hears to reading.

     This will be a short post.  There's really not a lot of time right now to dive into this, but the video itself is more than sufficient to get the point across.  Let me just say this; the American left is harsher on conservative women and conservative minorities than they are on anyone else.  You see, the "Democratic" Party doesn't care about blacks, Hispanics, Asians and it doesn't about women; they only care about power, plain and simple.  If a conservative black man or woman wins the Republican nomination, well it just throws a lot of their arguments and suppositions that they've been spewing for decades.

A Letter To My Brother/s

     I recently got into a heated debate on a thread of comments to something my brother posted on facebook.  I should have known better, but I tried.  needless to say, some people got really upset with me, but that's what happens when you bring reason and facts into a room full of liberal Democrats.  When it was all finished I posted a letter to my brother on the thread that I would like to share.  I've cleaned up the grammar a bit because it was written around five o clock in the morning.


     Brother, I've witnessed liberal hypocrisy in action for many years. I'll never forget a union meeting I attended years ago.  One of my "brothers" got up and went on a 20 minute tirade about the special interests.  This corporation here that industry there.  On and on he went about "all this money" going to "buy politicians" and why it should be stopped.  When I asked him later if he was suggesting that we give up our PAC fund he said; "Waddya mean?"  That was one of those rare moments when I was speechless.

     After years of observation I've come to the conclusion that being a liberal Democrat is the easiest thing to be, because you don't have to think; you just have to feel and since your basing your judgments and opinions on feelings and emotions your intentions are "pure" and therefore those who oppose your view are evil.

     All I've done here, and it was quite educational and illustrative was was to point out where Mr. Obama is inconsistent, wrong and why I believe that his policies are bad for the Republic.  Granted, I was a bit snarky and downright confrontational at times, but hey, if the left can do it so can I.  You see they don't like it when their tactics are used against them.

     No one, with the exception of A***r attempted to refute my claims about Mr. Obama.  They resorted to name calling and blaming others.  A***r did get her racist dig at the end of her post, but at least she attempted to counter my points.  Leftists are like insecure children in their world view and any opposition is taken as a personal attack.

     Over the past 2 1/2 years I've witnessed good, honest, decent, lovers of their country be vilified by the those on the left.  The left was even willing to use the attempted assassination of a Congresswoman by a lunatic to try and label their political opponents as "uncivil", "evil" and "hate mongers".  You see, it's an old tactic on the left to render any political opposition impotent by claims that they are "evil".  I don't watch FOX News, but FOX must be doing something right to be hated so much by the left.  Both D***d and E****e suggested that I was a FOX News watcher and that in itself is illustrative of this point; In their childish minds, FOX News is evil, so even facts and good information gleaned from FOX are bad.

      But the one thing that the left really excels at is "projection".  They are the best at projecting their thoughts and emotions on to their political opponents.  This may explain why Mr. Obama loves that teleprompter, after all it is also a kind of projector.  Chances are, if a lefty calls you a racist, they actually are the racist.  If they call you a homophobe, they probably hold those very thoughts. They will always accuse their opposition with the thoughts and feelings that they themselves harbor.  Want to know what a lefty is thinking?  Wait till he calls you a name. 

     Don't apologize, because I won't. Think of this as an exercise and an educational experience.  You see, once you start to understand your enemy, you can combat them.  A liberal Democrat is like a jealous, insecure and scared little child that wants other people's stuff and someone else to take care of them.  I refuse to be silent any longer. If that pisses people off, oh well they better get used to it; this Republic is too dear to allow the world view of idiots to destroy it.

Ahhh, Civilty Reigns!

    Things haven't been going very well for our friends on the left as of late.  Since last November it's been defeat, after defeat and quite frankly their future doesn't look too bright. Thank God that they are the civil ones...... Hahahahahahahaha!

    It's been some time since I've written but the bug has hit me tonight, so please humor me for a few moments while I take a trip down memory lane and then take a current snapshot to paint a picture of leftist hypocrisy.

    In the wake of the Gabrielle Giffords shooting several months ago, Mr. Obama went to Tucson Arizona and gave a very moving speech in which he called for civility in our nation's political discourse.  It was an excellent bit of oratory and well received by everyone.  It was also fascinating  in the sense that, for a week prior, Republicans were blamed by those on the left for the shootings even though it was clear from the beginning that the gunman was.... well..... out of his freaking mind.   Anyway, the message from Mr. Obama's speech was that we should all learn how to get along and play nicely, but of course in "Democrat" speak that means for the opposition to shut up and allow the leftists to have their way.  It's the same thing when they talk of "bipartisanship", but I digress.    The media, of course, went nuts with Barry's speech.  The "great orator was back" and this was the very thing that the "nation needed for healing".  Civility would once again rule our political discourse.  Barry was guaranteed re election.  I don't even want to think of what went on in Chris Matthew's pants. 

    Of course the civil discourse lasted maybe a day and it was the "Democrats" who got the ball rolling, but hey it's only hateful when Republicans do it, right?  Now for that current snapshot.  Let's take a brief look at some of the recent "civility" from our leftist friends, shall we?

    First up, Steve Sweeney.  New Jersey Senate President, fat cat in the state AFL/CIO, former Gloucester County Freeholder, former United Iron Workers business Rep, all around thug and corrupt party boss. (as you can see I'm very proud that he "represents" me in the NJ State Senate)

    Our governor Mr. Christie, has used his veto pen quite effectively and the residents of The Garden State are finally getting some long, long overdue reform and relief.  You see, the unions, in particular public employee unions, have had their way in this state for a very very long time and they've never seen an animal like Chris Christie before.  They're used to flexing their muscle and watching the opposition quiver and hide.  Well, "Mr." Sweeney had to cut a deal, but the deal isn't making his "people" happy, so he went on the radio and had some very nice things to say about governor Christie  .  Note to "Mr." Sweeney; I'm not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination and I voted for the Governor and will again. 

    Next up, Graeme Zielinski. Communications Director Wisconsin State Democratic Party and former reporter for the Washington Post.

    Mr. Zielinski is so compassionate and civil he tweeted his fellow Democrats to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Medicare by punching a Republican.  Now that's civility! I guess we can't blame him, just like New Jersey, Wisconsin used to be a "Blue" state, but sadly for him and his comrades, things just aren't going their way and Wisconsin turned "Red" overnight.  It's been a series of brutal defeats for Wisconsin leftists since last November.  I guess he's upset because the state of Wiscionsin will no longer be a union dues collection agency and the public employee unions will have to collect the dues of state employees and teachers.  That's probably going to throw a monkey wrench into that "Democratic" Party/Public Employee Union money laundering scheme they've had going for decades.

    Finally, I'm going to end with where we began, That's right; Barack Hussein Obama.  Mr. Obama has been showing his proclivity for civility for quite some time now.  Sheesh, I think it only took a week after his Tucson speech before he was out demonizing, ridiculing and dehumanizing his opposition.  This guy is a pro at the "Democratic" brand of civility.   

    A week ago Mr. Obama gave a press conference like non I have ever seen or heard before from a President of The United States.  The tone toward his opposition was condescending, uncivil and mean spirited.  It was not the tone we heard from Mr. Obama that night in Tucson, it was the tone of a man steeped in class warfare and Alinsky tactics.  He even ridiculed his opposition by comparing them to his children and the work of Congress to his children's homework.  I have a feeling that what we witnessed is the real Barack Obama and what we saw that night in Tucson was only an image; the very same image that we saw in 2008. 

    Election season is about to get in to full gear and it doesn't look too good for our friends on the left. They've created a trail of ruin and wasted opportunities.  Mr. Obama now has a record to run on and it's not a very good one.  Americans don't feel confident right now. They are also alarmed at the debt that has been piled onto their children and the "recovery" from the lingering recession is on their minds.   All the signs look like a major defeat for Mr. Obama and his party.  That can be a very scary proposition because anger and violence have always been part of the underpinning of the left; just take a look at Greece.  The vast majority of acts of political violence have been perpetrated by the left. Let's pray it doesn't come to that.

It Really Is That Simple

         America is no longer a society of 'haves' and 'have-nots’, it is now a society of producers and takers.  The latter far out number the former, and as long as that is the case no congress or president can stop the economic disaster that is coming (or already here).  At some point, those that produce will simply quit doing so. Those that take will NOT stop doing so - until they are forced to.  

      Yesterday (April 14) was tax freedom day, the day that the average taxpayer is no longer working to fund the federal government.  As my good friend, Gar Bailey pointed out to me; “that is only for federal income taxes and does not include the endless state and local taxes and fees that are paid every day.  Freedom day for all taxes would be well into August.”  Eight months of working to fund government!! That is 3/4 of your working life devoted to funding what has primarily become a clearing house for wealth redistribution and entitlement.

     What will happen when producers quit producing?  Are the moochers and looters of this great nation going to storm Washington and demand that the politicians force others to produce for them?  

     If you keep smacking a dog with a rolled up newspaper, he will eventually quit doing whatever it was he was doing.  If you keep taxing the people that really make this country work; those people that create jobs, write paychecks, invest in development, donate to charity, and pay the majority of taxes - they will simply quit. It is simple economics combined with the love of free will that drives people to produce, and it is the intrusion into the exact same thing that will make them stop.

        Your income is your property.  You have exchanged time out of your very life to acquire it, making it the most basic form of personal property you can have.  You would not allow someone to steal your furniture or your car; how is your income any different?  The taxation of income is public-sanctioned theft.  It really is that simple.

       It's been some time since anything has been written on these pages. The author has become busy and the writing bug just hasn't been biting. I felt that it was important to start writing again, not because of any profound thoughts or ideas and not because anyone was actually reading what I wrote but rather, because It's therapy for me. That's right this is just an exercise in selfishness.

     The third year of Barrack Hussein Obama's term as President of the United States of America is well under way and last November the citizens of this great land elected a Republican majority to the House of Representatives.  The GOP came close to taking the majority in the Senate but fell a few seats short. The fascinating thing about the election actually happened at the state level. The "Democrats" lost big in legislatures around the country as well as quite a few governorships. The point there is that, in those states, Republicans will be responsible for redistricting.

     The "Democrat" majority in Congress left town last year without passing a budget and leaving that task for the present Congress to get it done so, we just had a budget battle that actually turned out to be nothing more than a political pillow fight. No real cuts in the spending that is causing the debt that we are drowning in. 

       Today the House of Representatives passed their 2012 budget. There are real cuts and it is basically the Ryan plan. $6 Trillion in cuts over the next decade and there is real reform of entitlement programs. Now the ball is in the Senate's court, let's see if those "Democrats" are going to get serious about cuts. I believe some are and will get busy. After all there are more than twenty who are up for re election.

     A brief snapshot of America today: 

• Gasoline prices are high, averaging around $4 a gallon.
• Unemployment is above 9% and has been for well over a year.
• Gold hits record price three days in a row.
• Inflation is high.
• The national debt is pushing $15 trillion.
• Several states are fast approaching the debt tipping point.
• Suicide rate is up.
• More people on food stamps than in any other time in our history.
• A general sense and mood that things aren't going to get better.
• Deep divisions in the population.

The Awakening

     It looks like it's going to be a busy summer as the political machines gear up for a showdown in the fall. There's much on the line this November when people take to the polls to elect, or re elect new Congressional Representatives. There are quite a few Senate seats up for grabs as well.

  This time last year it looked as though a Democratic majority would govern for quite some time. We had elected a new President and his party, the Democratic Party, had gained huge majorities in both houses of Congress. It was a new day for America and it wouldn't be long before "fundamental transformation" would occur.

  A funny thing happened on the way to November's mid term elections; America woke up. It turns out that the American people understand that, just because you win an election, you can't govern against the will of the electorate.

  Barrack Hussein Obama ran a masterful campaign. He benefited from a sympathetic American media that was unwilling to vet him, a general anger at George Bush, a bad economy and people who just wanted Hope and Change. It didn't matter that he was vague about what that Hope and Change meant, people were tired of the status quo and they looked at Barry's opponent as more of the same. Obama won big.

  The day after the election I posted this on my facebook profile; "Elections are easy, governing is hard." The reason for making that statement is simple. The American people are a stubborn lot. We enjoy our freedoms and cherish Liberty. You see, if the media was unwilling to vet Barry, there was nothing stopping others like me from doing it. We have this wonderful thing called the internet and it has been an incredible educational resource for me. It didn't take long to find out quite a bit about Mr. Obama; his beliefs and his activities. I found out who his friends were and what he wrote as well as his voting record. I knew that once the American people began to see who and what he was, they would realize that a mistake had been made.

I believe that I was correct in that belief. From all the data I can gather it appears that the Democratic Party is going to suffer a political bloodbath this November. The reasons are many, but it all boils down to this; You cannot govern against the will of the American People. This doesn't mean that the Democratic defeat will happen, but if the trend continues there will be far fewer Democrats in Congress this time next year and that is very important in order to stop this administration's agenda.

Barry's agenda is not America's agenda. We've always been a center right society. The belief that you can force a leftist ideology upon a country with firm roots in freedom is a stupid one. Socialism is nothing more than a form of slavery and the average American understands this and does not want it. Could be that Barry may be responsible for a new American awakening. Let's Hope for that Change!

If Not For the Kids Why Not For the Planet?

Sad news came today; after 40 years of marital bliss, Al and Tipper Gore are calling it quits. It's never a good thing when families divide, but Al and Tipper were a special couple.

Who could ever forget the great Gore kiss at the the 200o Democratic National Convention after Al locked up his party's nomination for president? What about the heady 90s when Al was VP and Tipper was at his side. They were THE Washington couple.

You know, I blame George Bush for this development. Come on, who else could be to responsible? It's common knowledge that he and Dick Cheney are responsible for all the ills in our society, just watch MSNBC or read the New York Times.

Anyway, the news really got to me because of their children. Being a product of a broken home I, as much as anyone, understand the complexities that arise in the lives of children when their parents divorce. What about the Gore children? Couldn't Al and Tipper stick it out for a few more years until the younguns were out of the house? After all the kids should be the main concern here and all selfishness should be put aside "for the children". Those developmental and formative years are tough enough without adding the confusion of parental separation.

It turns out that the four Gore children are grown. I do understand that even adult children can and do suffer when their parents divorce, but the effects are not as harsh as they would be if they were at a more tender age. The news that the "kids" were now adults relieved some of my anxiety.

Then I started thinking about the effects that this split could have on our fragile planet. Could this news somehow put Mother Earth out of balance? Could divorce be bad for the earth?

I haven't been able to get the horrific thought out of my mind. Could the Gore's divorce be bad for the environment? As a married couple the Gores shared the same lighting, the same heating, possessions and home. Now that Al and Tipper are divorcing, they'll now be living in different places, using different light, heat, air conditioning and they'll be doubling up on possessions like can openers, televisions and other items. Could the Gore's cause an imbalance in nature with their split?

As I pondered these things, some questions arose; How could Al do this to our planet? Why would he be so selfish as to harm our fragile ecosystem with this divorce? Why the hypocrisy? Then I remembered that Al and Tipper are merely victims. Victims of the Bush years.

Is there anything that we can't blame George for? Hey! What's that fly doing in my soup?

It Doesn't Feel Like America

I haven't written much as of late. Been feeling the blahs and a bit of some burn out from the news. It's not that there isn't a whole lot to write about, there's plenty and maybe that's the problem; there's just too much to chose from.

I must admit that it's been really weird lately. It just doesn't feel like America anymore. Yeah, that's an odd comment, but it's an honest one. It's really a hard thing to explain, but for the first time in my life I have the strange feeling that my government looks at me as nothing more than a source of revenue and potential trouble. It has been one Federal power grab after another for the past 15 months and it doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon. Every bit of legislation coming from Congress seems to give more power to the president and it's really quite scary.

Speaking of the guy in the White House. It turns out that he's really not as bright as we were led to believe. Either that, or he's more concerned about his ideology and agenda than he is about fulfilling his Constitutional role as President of the United States of America. He's a petty and narcissistic little man who appears to be quite vindictive. He likes to point fingers and I've yet to hear him take responsibility for anything. It's always someone else's fault, however that appears to be wearing thin, even in the fawning media. There's been a lot of whining and complaining about those who, rightly so, oppose his destructive policies. He also likes to engage in the juvenile activity of name calling, especially when he doesn't have facts, data and sound ideas to back up his policies. He seems to not want to do the job that he actively campaigned to get.

Lately his supporters have been turned loose on the internet and you can't read the comments to any presidential news story without reading stupid comments by these idiots. I read an article earlier this evening about the immigration issue in Arizona and the comment thread left the realm of debate and devolved into a name calling party by a bunch of sixth graders. The people in the story that were for the law were called all kinds of names and anyone who supported them were treated the same.

This is Obama's America. The "Great Unifier" is really The Great Divider. Our so called first "Post Racial President" has actually increased racial tensions. Our first "Post Partisan" President has actually been instrumental in defining the lines between the parties and may be responsible, with Nancy and Harry, for destroying the Democratic Party. I have never seen America this divided in my life. People are angry at the government, well, most people are angry with the government. There are quite a few people who rely on the Feds for their livelihood and I'm sure they're quite happy with Barry.

I guess that we Americans have learned that elections have consequences. It's a shame that it had to be this expensive a lesson. It's going to take a lot of work to undo what this man has brought about. I believe that it can be done, the question is; will there be those out there with the political will to make the tough decisions and follow through? I suppose time will tell, in the mean time we'll just have remain vigilant.

Greed

There has been a lot of talk about greed as of late. Greedy Wall Street bankers and those huge corporate monsters destroying everything in their path for a greedy pursuit of wealth. Greedy fat cats living large off of the labor of the poor and their blatant disregard for the "downtrodden".

This is incredibly irresponsible and inflammatory language because of the effect that it may have on those members of our society (This is a leftist argument against right wing talk radio) who have been told that nothing is their fault. Hey, if it's not your fault for the situation you find yourself in, then it must be the fault of some one else, right?. Who better than those greedy Wall Street bankers to cast your frustrations and angers upon? If they get theirs; now that's justice and it's about time. But hey, when has America's leftists been responsible?

There's one problem with this track though; people are greedy for more than just money, so if these Wall Street bankers are to be brought down to size because of their greed for money, what should happen to those who are greedy for power? What about those with a lust for political power? Greed is greed and if it's a bad thing, then it's bad for everyone; including the power hungry.

There is no doubt in my mind that the current Goldman Sachs show trial in Washington right now, is about nothing more than power. The "Democrats" are parading these GS executives before the television cameras in order to make it look like they're taking care of us little people by calling these evil men on the carpet. Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Goldman Sachs. Our last governor was a former GS executive and he was an absolute joke. However, these hearings are really quite laughable and absurd because this is all for show; it's Kabuki Theater. We all know that families take care of one another.

You see what we are witnessing is really an incestuous relationship between politicians and their political patrons. Goldman Sachs gave almost $1,000,000 to the Obama campaign as well as money to the campaigns of those very people grilling them in the Senate conference rooms. The Obama administration is littered with many a Goldman Sachs expatriate and many former "Democratic" Congressmen and Senators have found employment with the firm. It's ludicrous to think of this as anything other than political theater. It's all designed to soften the ground for the pending banking legislation in the Senate. Goldman Sachs will pay a fine and after a light spanking will go back to lobbying for new regulations that will allow them to solidify their share of the market and edge out any competition.

What does this have to do with greed for power? Well, I'm glad you asked. When you look at the pending banking legislation closely, you begin to see some interesting things. The legislation that is before the Senate gives the FTC unprecedented and near dictatorial powers within the banking industry. It would also create a brand new Federal regulatory agency; the Consumer Financial Protection Agency (just what we need, another bureaucracy). The bill would touch all corners of the financial sector, from small-town mortgage brokers to the highest penthouse office suites on Wall Street. The Federal Reserve emerges as a leaner institution with new powers to regulate the size and the activities of the nation’s largest financial firms (I thought the the Federal Reserve was a private institution? Why would the Feds give them the power of regulation? Isn't the Fed chair a former Goldman Sachs executive?).

This piece of legislation is a huge 1400 page monstrosity of a bill. I'm sure that Goldman Sachs will gladly pay the fine, take the verbal abuse and slap on the wrist in order to be a diversion for a governmental power grab of the financial sector that will benefit them tremendously.

We're not really a capitalist society any longer. Those days began to fade with the original Anti Trust Laws in the early Twentieth Century and have gradually withered away under increasing regulation over the years. Add to that the fact that the referee, the Federal government, has entered the game and is now a player with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the new college loan bill (Still trying to figure out what that has to do with health care). That's why firms, unions and corporations spend so much money lobbying the Federal government and can you blame them? One sentence in a 1400 page bill could mean the difference between earning or losing millions of dollars. What we have now is "Crony Capitalism", "Pay to Play" and legal extortion. The Federal government was never intended to have this much power, but that's a topic for another post.

I've always had a healthy distrust of government. It's my heritage as an American to be suspicious of those who seek office, but over the past three years I've begun to feel quite uneasy with the rhetoric and activities coming from Washington. For the first time in my life I feel that those in power look at me as nothing more than a source of revenue and potential trouble. You see, power not only corrupts, it is addicting. Try getting between an addict and their fix sometime. It ain't pretty.

There's an old Chinese curse; "May you live in interesting times." I pray that we can soon return to less interesting days.
